THE ENCINITAS LIFESAVING ASSOCIATION
The Encinitas Lifesaving Association is a nonprofit (501-C3 tax exempt) organization chartered to promote beach safety awareness and professional open-water lifesaving standards. We share the mission, goals, and objectives of the CSLSA. The CSLSA (west coast region) is one of seven regions of the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) which in turn is affiliated to the International Lifesaving Association (ILS).

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD AND ENCINITAS BEACH KIDS SCHOLARSHIP FUNDING AND SUPPORT
Help us create strong ocean aware and self confident individuals.
The City of Encinitas Junior Lifeguard and Beach Kids programs are designed for boys and girls to enhance their ocean skills with two-week sessions offered throughout the summer. By combining education with recreation, participants learn about the ocean environment, gain professional lifesaving skills, and enjoy swimming, bodyboarding, bodysurfing, snorkeling and skills competitions. The goal of the program is to educate young people in ocean and beach safety while building self-confidence and appreciation for the ocean environment.
LEARN TO SWIM TUITION ASSISTANCE FOR UNDERSERVED CHILDREN
Making a difference one stroke at a time.
Drowning is the number 1 cause of death or injury to children ages 1 to 4 and more than 10 people die per day by drowning.
The Learn to Swim Program is designed to teach children to be water safe, and develop skills necessary to participate in Junior Lifeguard programming in the future by funding year-round swim lessons emphasizing logical skill progression, water safety awareness and endurance through other non-profit partners.

Providing Tuition Assistance to members seeking a career in public service
The City of Encinitas Marine Safety Division is part of the 9-1-1 system and employs young men and women who are of a select group which has the strength and resiliency to place their lives in peril to save another. Whether these part-time professionals seek continuing education training in the areas of medical response, water rescue, cliff, dive or swiftwater response or seek a full-time career in an areas of exceptional public safety service to the public we provide monetary assistance to ensure they develop the skills and receive the training necessary to excel.
